Villa Maria Elementary Student Council is off to a great start this year.  They recently held the annual Penny Battle to benefit the Sisters of St. Joseph Thanksgiving Dinner for the homeless and homebound raising $1,975.19 with the help of the entire student body.   The Sisters of St. Joseph, along with Gannon University, serve and deliver more than 1,000 hot Thanksgiving meals each year and with the remaining funds help local organizations assist individuals in need of food, basic necessities and for emergency needs in the community throughout the year.  Listed (left to right) Damon Finazzo, Principal, Villa Maria Elementary School, Anna McGovern, Emma Shimek, Sister Mary Claire Kennedy, SSJ, Tatum Yusz, Ashley Khouri, and Scott Strasser, Student Council Advisor.
