Last evening we had a wonderful parent meeting where we had some wonderful conversation between parents, school staff, and the Sisters of Saint Joseph in regards to helping our children grow to be holy, healthy, happy people.
Our Parent Night, entitled "Building Virtue - Defending Love" will be held Thursday, May 10 here at VME from 6:30-8:00 pm in the Lecture Hall. Mr. Finazzo will be facilitating this parent meeting with the help of a number of our VME parents acting as small group discussion leaders for part of the evening.
The Sisters of Saint Joseph have opened the Nomination process for up to 11 open Trustee seats. There are four current Trustees remaining on the Board: Stephanie Lombardozzi (Chair), Sister Clare Marie Beichner (Member), James Fisher, and Liz Allen. It is essential that the Nomination Committee (Sr. Mary Drexler, Sr. Mary Arnold Tann, Sr. Claudia Dombrowski, and Sr. Joyce Lowery) have quality nominations by close of day May 4. At that time, the Nomination Committee will send a letter of invitation, which includes the application form, to all individuals nominated for the 2012-13 VME Board of Trustees. All applications are due back by May 11. The Nominating Committee will review all applications and determine the selected candidates to be presented to the Executive Committee of the Board by May 18. The Executive Committee will review the nominations and present the slate of candidates for appointment to the Member by May 25. The Member will notify the new Trustees of their appointment by May 29. It is important to understand that there are no limitations in the number of individuals that you nominate, and it is also your right to nominate yourself for an open position on the Board. The Sisters of Saint Joseph need your help and participation in this process in order to continue building a solid foundation for the future of VME.
